The Heritage of We The People

Created to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America, this mixed media artwork celebrates the enduring ideals upon which the nation was founded - liberty, unity, justice, and the pursuit of freedom.

At its heart stands George Washington, whose unwavering leadership helped shape a new republic. Surrounding him are iconic symbols of the American journey: the Statue of Liberty, representing hope and opportunity; the bald eagle, embodying strength and resilience; the American flag, a reminder of the sacrifices made in defense of freedom; and the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, the documents that established the principles of self-government and individual rights.

The White House, the U.S. Capitol, and scenes from the Revolutionary War trace the nation’s path from its courageous beginning to its continuing democratic legacy. Together, these elements honor not only America’s history but also the generations who have worked to preserve the vision of “We the People.”

Through layers of soft pastel and mixed media, this piece invites viewers to reflect on 250 years of perseverance, courage, and hope - celebrating a nation whose greatest strength lies in the enduring pursuit of freedom and the shared responsibility to protect it for generations to come.
