Derafsh Kavian became a well-known symbol through a book known as the Shahnameh. According to the Shahnameh, Derafsh Kaviani was raised by Kaveh during his uprising against the oppression of Zahhak. Kaveh, who was a blacksmith, started a movement against injustice. Today, this symbol is still recognized by Iranians, both inside and outside the country, as a mythical sign of resistance against tyranny and oppression.
