Faravahar

This rendition of a section of the ancient Persepolis architecture shows a Persian cultural icon known as the Faravahar. This icon is associated with Zoroastrianism and contains multiple levels of symbolism. One example of symbolism is the direction the man faces represents the goal of moving forward with progress.
