The Legacy of Legends

The Legacy of Legends is a story of the battle of good over evil. The artist says for this artwork, she got inspired by the epic story of Zahhak and Fereydoun from the Shahnameh of the great Iranian poet Ferdosi. She says that today's Iran is just like the epic stories of the Shahnameh. The struggle of brave people against the oppressors of the time.

Mythological symbols are used in this work. Zahhak with snakes on his shoulders is a symbol of darkness, oppression and suffocation. Iranian fairies who come from the path of light to the earth to protect Iran and its people. The leader of the people, Rostam Dastan is the famous hero of the Shahnameh. The left side of the work depicts the national hero Arsh, who marks the border between Iran and Turan with his bow and arrow. In fact, the artist uses him as a symbol of maintaining territorial integrity.

The Kaviani flag, which symbolizes justice, is seen behind a queen with a Sassanid crown and an Achaemenid brooch. The woman in this artwork is a symbol of rebirth and equality. The Achaemenid brooch represents the antiquity and historical beauty of Iran, and the Sassanid royal crown represents the artist's desire to return to the glorious era of Iran before Islam. The colors green, white, and red, along with the lion and sun in the middle, represent the national flag of Iran.
