Team Bonding Made Colorful

Corporate Art Events for All Skill Levels

Ready for a new approach to employee team bonding?

Ditch the typical trivia nights and competitions for an enriching painting class that brings employees together on a new level! When coworkers gather in a creative environment, something magical happens - and it's not just the art they make.

Team Building ≠ Team Bonding

Often these terms are synonymous, but at Noor we believe there is a slight difference that can make a BIG difference in personal relationships. Many team building activities include puzzles or games that help people find their role amongst the group (which is important but perhaps just step 1 in achieving a successful team). But once something is built there must be some sort of bonding agent to help hold everything – and everyone – together. Here I will tell you why art is one of the most powerful bonding agents known to man.

3 Benefits of People (Especially Beginners) Painting Together

  1. Encourages Support Instead of Competition

When someone is presented with the idea of creating an artwork with no prior experience, they may feel like they're being pushed out of their comfort zone. Making art is often intertwined with our emotions and many people feel vulnerable putting their thoughts and feelings out into the world (especially around coworkers). But as humans, we have evolved to be naturally inclined to support each other when vulnerable. Our development of empathy and cooperation is one of the things that makes us human.

  2. Builds Personal Connections

We know everyone gets tired of the routine small talk that reverberates off the office walls. Which isn’t necessarily born from lack of interest but lack of quality time. But at Noor we encourage discussion around the artistic decisions made throughout the creative process. These conversations open doors to new sides of each other, providing time and space to get to know each other better.

  3. Practice Exploring New Ideas Without Judgement

At Noor one of our main goals is to produce a supportive, inclusive, and non-judgmental environment. This is a place to try new things and express yourself in ways you may not have ever done before. Being open to new ideas is also a skill that directly translates to the workplace. In order to have a well-functioning team everybody needs to be open to new ideas to keep a business growing and moving forward.

It's Scientifically Proven!

Semir Zeki, Professor of Neurobiology at the University College of London, conducted a study of MRIs performed on participants as they viewed various artworks. He observed that when someone looked at an artwork (that they said they liked) there was a 10% increase in blood flow to the pleasure center of the brain (similarly to when we look at someone we love). What could be a more powerful bonding agent than love? Even if you’re the type of artist that is never satisfied with their work, when you come to Noor Gallery you are surrounded by beauty that is sure to inspire a mood boost.
