Curating a Color Scheme
- Warm Color Palette
With any event we are planning, our color scheme is always the first element we tackle. The Fall season pretty much sets the tone for you, with it being notorious for the warm colors appearing before your eyes throughout the trees. While bright reds, yellows, and oranges are appropriate for the season, don’t be afraid to mix in some darker burgundies, rich golds, or burnt oranges.
- Emphasizing Ambiance
Color plays a major role in the mood produced throughout a space. If you are aiming for energetic and lively those bright tones work great. But when looking for something more peaceful and relaxing leaning into darker or calmer hues is the way to go. At Noor we try to keep a nice balance by incorporating both ends of the spectrum without them clashing.
- Essential Elements
A few items that lay the groundwork of a color palette are tablecloths and other table accessories. Tables are the easiest piece of large furniture to accessorize according to the season or your special event themes. If you want to go all out with your “tablescapes” experiment with tablecloths, table runners, placemats, centerpieces, decorative food stands and platters, candles and candle holders, and anything else you can think of!
Inspiration from Nature
One of the main goals of Fall home décor is to bring the beauty of outside inside. Again, the iconography of the Fall season does most of the thinking for you with the abundance of pumpkins and gourds present in every store you’ll walk into. One idea for a nature-inspired centerpiece is to create an overflowing cornucopia scene with real seasonal fruits and vegetables, doubling as a functional appetizer platter. If you are also looking to incorporate the aesthetic of color-changing leaves, consider forming your own bouquet of faux foliage with different colors, including green sprinkled throughout.
Developing Composition
Once you’ve gathered all of your supplies, the main challenge begins – composing a scene of décor that travels throughout your home. There are two umbrella themes we will break down to help you develop your unique home décor style. At Noor we aim to find the balance between the two themes, see if you can pick out the different elements we mixed and matched in the picture below!
Calm and Peaceful vs Playful and Exciting
Rich, deep colors vs Bright, vibrant colors
Solid-colors vs Busy patterns
Clean, simple arrangements vs Scattered, random arrangements
These are only a few concepts to consider mixing and matching to find your Fall-inspired home décor vibe. If you’re looking to learn a thing or two on seasonal home décor in person book a holiday event with us today! We offer fully catered packages with or without painting activities.
